Event Description
A very special treat awaits you this holiday season at the historic Castle Green in Pasadena. Normally closed to the public, for one afternoon during the holiday season, the doors are open so we can see the creative interior design and cultural heritage of this treasure, all dressed up for the holidays. Originally built in 1898, this former hotel and historic landmark has played host to vacationing tycoons, celebrities, presidents and film crews and is now the private residence of Pasadena designers, musicians, collectors and artists. One of Southern California's most stunningly original and beautiful buildings, its where sophistication meets history in an eclectic mix of mystery and beauty. The architecture is a mixture of Moorish, Spanish, and Victorian styles. The lush gardens are spectacular. On a self-guided tour with docents available to share stories and answer questions, youll be able to walk the corridors, enter the Grand Salon, the Moorish and Turkish Rooms, the Palm, Room, Sunroom and Veranda and visit up to 20 individual apartments, all featuring different designs and many decorated for the holidays. Time at your leisure in Old Pasadena for lunch and shopping.
